The New ACCESS Women’s group was established in January 2016.
The group will meet weekly and will provide a varied range of social activities, classes, speakers, facilitators, arts and crafts, events, talks and chats.
This is an excellent social outlet for women of any age, particularly those who are new to an area.

“LEARNING TO LEARN AT 3RD LEVEL” (LEVEL 6 QQI)
PRESENTED THROUGH “THE VIRTUAL COLLEGE”- AN COSAN
AND ACCREDITED BY THE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, CARLOW.
A 9 WEEK COURSE BEGINNING ON TUESDAY 5TH APRIL.
ONLINE LEARNING WITH TUTORIAL SUPPORTS.
CO-ORDINATED BY SOUTHEND FRC, ACCESS 2000 AND WATERFORD WEXFORD ETB.

Induction: 6 hour face to face workshop.
Week 1: 2 hour online session on using the technology.
On line teaching : 2 hours per week over 8 weeks.
On line tutorial: 2 group sessions over the duration of the course.
Workshop: 6 hour face-to-face workshop during the module.
Cost of module: €100 – (subsidised by WWETB)
This certificate is designed to support learners to develop skills and confidence in preparing for education
at 3rd level. Students will explore a range of different learning styles and will be introduced to academic reading
and writing; reading techniques and strategies, planning, structuring writing assignments and using academic conventions.
The module will also introduce learners to key ideas in social studies.
The structure of the module as outlined below is based on developing an online community of practice using a blended learning approach.
