ACCESS – NCCWN Wexford Letters of Support Campaign
Some of the letters received from women as a result of our ” Letter Campaign “. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to write and express their personal experience with NCCWN/ACCESS.

The letter which was sent to people seeking their support to ring fence funding for NCCWN in Wexford
Please support Access
You probably heard by now that our funding is currently under threat and may result in the closure of Access !
We are asking you for your help.
We would like you to write, in your own handwriting a very short letter addressed to
Minister Phil Hogan
Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government
Custom House
Dublin 1
Informing him of your experience with the Project, whether it was on a training course, as a volunteer, as a tutor or if someone in your family was also involved with Access. Politician tends not to respond to typed letters, so get out the old pen and ink for this one!
So please write the letter and send it Access, 2 Green Street, Wexford.
There are 17 projects involved in this campaign, and the idea is that all 17 projects will send the hand-written letters to the Minister on July 14th, (greater impact if all of these letters arrive on his desk on the same day).
We cannot stress enough the importance of this small gesture; it is our only way of demonstrating the value of our work that we do with women and their families throughout the various communities to the Minister.
Application for Experience Success 2014/2015
Closing date for application for Experience Success 2014/2015 programme was extended to the end of the July 2014. Interviews will be held in August 2014.
Threat to ACCESS !!!
As you are aware ACCESS 2000 (Wexford) Ltd is one of 17 projects funded through our national organisation, the National Collective of Community Based Women’s Networks (NCCWN). Critically, this core funding enables us to employ 3 part-time staff and to leverage additional funding for the delivery of accredited and non-accredited community education programmes and to work with and support other organisations involved in social development for women.
As the only national programme specifically targeted at women experiencing disadvantage, the national Community based woman’s networks are experienced and have been an essential part of the infrastructure in Wexford in past twenty years.
It was announced last week that all work funded by the Government must be tendered for and crucially, that tendering for this work will not be permitted by a national organisation. This means that collectively the 17 projects of the NCCWN cannot tender for funding to continue the work that we are already doing.
The Staff, Volunteers and the Advisory committees of NCCWN, Wexford (ACCESS 2000) and NCCWN, Waterford (Women’s Centre) are meeting in ACCESS at 2 Green Street, Wexford at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18th to discuss a regional strategy to insure that this invaluable work for woman continues in both counties.
Your attendance and support will be really appreciated. Please text your name to 085 8064066 to confirm your attendance.
Marian, Margaret, Dagmar and all your friends from ACCESS.
