Getting Started Course with AGE ACTION

This course is now well under way.

We had a huge response to the interview with Alan Corcoran on South East Radio.  Who knows, it could be the start of a new career in broadcasting for Margaret!  Watch out Miriam…

This course would not be possible without the enthusiasm, help and support of our Volunteers, and the interest of our learners.  Thank you all.

International Women’s Day in ACCESS

Thank You to everyone who joined us in celebrating the talents of the Women of ACCESS.

Waterford Women’s Centre Celebrating International Womens Day 2013

On a wet and windy Wednesday evening, we braved the elements to meet with Waterford Women’s Centre in Garter Lane Theatre. As always, we received a lovely warm welcome, and were greeted with a warm cup of tea,  cupcakes complete with International Women’s Day logo, and fabulous ‘fruity’ fruit cake.

We were there to hear what  Dr Maeve O’Grady, founder member of WWC, had to say on ‘What has changed for Women, and What has stayed the same?’, followed by Maeve Taylor, Irish Family Planning Association, speaking on ‘Family Planning & it’s Role in Women’s Rights and Development’.

The event started and finished with a dance facilitated by Libby Seward, Best Foot Forward Arts initiative.  Opening with ‘Phenomenal Women’ celebrating the spirit of women through dance, spoken word and song, and ending with a dance routine that had us on our feet dancing to the beat.  Well, some of us anyway!!!!
