Equality for Women Measure

Background

The  Equality for Women Measure was a Government funded two year pilot scheme to successful projects. Access 2000 was the Lead Agency in delivering this measure  which started in September 2005. Three women were employed:  a Project Co-ordinator, Administrator and Community Development Worker and fifty women participated in the programme.  Courses included;  Pre Development , Women in Business, Women in Leadership and I.T.  and an Intercultural Group was formed.

In July 2006 the programme hosted a two day conference and women’s festival on the quays in Wexford which was very successful and attracted speakers and delegates from all over Ireland. The Equality for Women Measure ended in March 2007.
